Sheriff's marine division: two grants, one BUI and continuing staffing shortfall
Sheriff's marine personnel told the Waterways Advisory Committee they received grants to repower a patrol vessel and build a bridal wall at Garfield Bay, reported one BUI and several minor accidents this summer, and said the division remains five to six deputies short.

Fred Ross of the sheriff's marine division presented the division's summer report and grant updates at the July 17 committee meeting. He said the division received two grants: a repower for a marine patrol vessel approaching 4,000 hours and funding to build a bridal wall at Garfield Bay.
