Board adopts Resolution 2024-03 to prefund employee flex spending fund
Lyon County adopted Resolution 2024-03 authorizing a $5,000 internal loan from the health insurance fund to the flex spending fund to cover employee claims effective Jan. 1, 2024; the loan is to be repaid by Dec. 31, 2024 after board motion carried Jan. 9.

Chairman Jerry Birkey introduced Resolution 2024-03 on Jan. 9 to prefund the county’s medical flex spending fund. The board was told the first deposit into the flex account would be made on Jan. 12, 2024, but county employees can file claims effective Jan. 1, 2024; to reconcile that timing the county will advance $5,000 from Fund 89000 (Health Insurance Fund) to Fund 91000 (Flex Spending Fund) as an internal loan to be repaid by Dec. 31, 2024.
