Bedford County commission unanimously expands appeal board to include fire-code disputes
The Bedford County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution 26-10 on Aug. 12, 2025, renaming the Board of Building Code Appeals to the Board of Code Appeals and adding authority to hear appeals under the adopted International Fire Code; the vote was 16–0.

The Bedford County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution No. 26-10 on Aug. 12, 2025, to expand the county's Board of Building Code Appeals so it also hears appeals arising from administration of the adopted International Fire Code. The commission voted 16 Aye, 0 No on the resolution following a unanimous recommendation from the Rules & Legislative Committee on July 15, 2025.
