Lyon County Board approves FY2024 budget amendment, sets rural service levy
The Lyon County Board of Supervisors approved FY2024 Budget Amendment #3, authorized the ambulance director to collect unpaid ambulance bills, and set the rural service levy at 2.07846 to raise $1,952,106; payroll and claims were also approved.

The Lyon County Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 2024-05 to adopt FY2024 Budget Amendment #3 following a brief public hearing on Feb. 27, 2024. Chairman Jerry Birkey opened the hearing; Lyon County Economic Development Director Jen Smit said a $15,000 contribution in the amendment will come from tourism funds designated for projects such as the CAT grant. The hearing closed and the resolution was approved on a motion by Supervisor Herman, seconded by Supervisor Altena.
