Township hears update on multi-municipality police regionalization study
Londonderry officials heard a June 30 update on a DCED-led study examining regionalizing police services among five municipalities; Phase 1 (feasibility) will use 2020 Census and PSP call data, and Phase 2 would offer technical assistance for implementation. Oxford Borough currently operates the only police department among the group.

Secretary Dana Simpson summarized a June 30 Zoom meeting with DCED representatives and officials from Londonderry, Penn, East Nottingham, Upper Oxford and Oxford Borough about a regional police study. Officials described the project as a two-part effort: Phase 1 is a feasibility study using 2020 Census data (road miles, square miles, population) and current PSP call data; Phase 2 would provide technical assistance if municipalities pursue implementation.
