Pine County backs Mediacom BEAD application, approves $1,000 contribution
The Pine County Board voted 3-0 to send a letter of support and provide a $1,000 contribution to Mediacom for its BEAD broadband grant application, a project the company says would extend about 193 miles of fiber and pass roughly 1,104 unserved or underserved locations in northern Pine County.

Mediacom Government Partnership Specialist Gerri Jenkins told the Pine County Board on April 15 that the company is applying for funding under the federal Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) program and requested a county letter of support and a modest financial contribution.
