Leeward Renewable Energy representatives presented a repowering plan for the 80-megawatt Caprock Wind project and requested the county consider an inducement resolution and Industrial Revenue Bond (IRB) adjustments at an upcoming meeting. The company said repowering would replace obsolete turbines, extend the project's operating life by roughly 30 years, and allow greater energy capture while keeping the existing 80 MW interconnection limit.
