Oconee County council votes to join County Association Group to avoid insurance rate increase
Council voted to join the County Association Group after a Blue Cross Blue Shield briefing that joining the group in July 1976 would prevent a modest increase in the county insurance contract. The motion passed on a voice vote.

Mrs. Anna Butler of Blue Cross Blue Shield told the Oconee County Council that the county's insurance contract was scheduled for a slight rate increase unless the county joined the County Association Group in July 1976, which she said would prevent the increase. Council member Thomas moved to join the association; Mr. Ramey seconded the motion and the council voted in favor.
