At its Jan. 21 meeting the Kossuth County Conference Board voted to hire from the assessor registry and set the county assessor salary at $97,570 after a higher salary proposal failed for lack of a second. A proposed appointment was declined by the prospective appointee.

The Kossuth County Conference Board voted Jan. 21 in Algona to set the county assessor’s salary at $97,570 after rejecting a higher pay proposal and to hire the assessor from the state registry as required by Iowa law.
