The Village voted 7-0 to list the foreclosed Decatur Republican building at $65,000 and discussed prior village expenses; a structural engineer inspection is scheduled for Oct. 9.

The Village Council voted unanimously on Oct. 5, 2026, to list the foreclosed Decatur Republican building for $65,000. Trustee Janssen moved, with support from Trustee McCann, to set the listing price; the motion carried 7-0. Interim Village Manager Megan Duncan said the village has borne certain expenses on the property since foreclosure and is awaiting proposals from Rose Realty and Cressy & Everett for listing and sale services.
