Adair County adopts construction evaluation resolution to review confinement feeding permits
The Board approved Resolution #2026-04 on Jan. 2, 2026 committing Adair County to evaluate every construction permit application for proposed confinement feeding operation structures received between Feb. 1, 2026 and Jan. 31, 2027 using the Iowa Code master matrix and to submit adopted recommendations to the Iowa DNR; the board may base recommendations on the matrix score or other reasons.

The Adair County Board of Supervisors on Jan. 2 adopted Resolution #2026-04, a construction evaluation resolution under Iowa Code section 459.304(3), committing the county to evaluate every construction permit application for proposed confinement feeding operation structures filed with the board between Feb. 1, 2026 and Jan. 31, 2027.
