Committee recommends forwarding 'Managing Your Urban Forest' for code incorporation
SEPAC reached consensus that enforceable construction-phase tree protection standards should be added; Member Craig Thomson moved and the Committee unanimously voted to forward the 'Managing Your Urban Forest' document to the City Manager with a recommendation to incorporate it into Chapter 15, Article 3 of the City Code for Commission consideration.

Committee members reviewed consultant recommendations for construction-phase tree protection and discussed whether those provisions should be adopted by resolution as a supplement to the Urban Forestry Standards manual or incorporated into the City Code by ordinance. City Clerk Dariana Fitzgerald clarified that adopting updates to a referenced manual could be done by resolution while adding enforceable Code language would require an ordinance.
