Trustees and tree board members discussed a recent installation of tree guards downtown that trustees say diverged from the board-approved design and may have contributed to brick displacement around tree wells. Ken Tourangeau said the original plan called for three‑sided protectors and that what was installed lacked the intended root protection and proper fit.
