Legislature denied Horizon budget; board hears program update and plans next request
Budget Working Group reported the legislature accepted the agency’s budget but denied funding for Horizon: Digitally Enhanced Campus; staff said Horizon will operate on cash reserves and will request funding again next legislative session.

At the June 9 meeting the Statewide Charter School Board’s Budget Working Group chair, Jared Buswell, told members that the legislature accepted the agency’s budget but denied the separate budget request for the Horizon: Digitally Enhanced Campus program. Buswell said Horizon will continue to operate using cash reserves and staff plan to submit another budget request during the next legislative session.
