St. Johns introduces updates to fire code and Michigan Motor Vehicle Code
The commission adopted resolutions to introduce an update to the city's fire code (moving toward the 2021 code) and to readopt the Michigan Motor Vehicle Code; both first-reading introductions passed unanimously.

On July 28 the St. Johns City Commission voted to introduce two code updates: Resolution #32-2025 to amend and update the local fire code toward the 2021 edition and Resolution #33-2025 to readopt the Michigan Motor Vehicle Code.
