Merit Board backs electronic voting for pension-board elections
The board voted to permit electronic voting for the pension board’s member election (previous in-person window was 6–8 a.m. on the December meeting). The pension board already approved the change; the merit board’s support is required before county council review.

At the Oct. 14 meeting the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Merit Board voted to support a change in pension board bylaws to move the member election from a single in-person two-hour window in December to an electronic voting period conducted before the December meeting.
