Board approves dispatcher pay increase for new hire
The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors approved a $21.20-per-hour wage authorization for full-time dispatcher Kaylee Petty, effective Nov. 24, 2025; the motion carried unanimously.

The Cherokee County Board of Supervisors approved Nov. 18, 2025, a wage authorization to set the rate for a full-time dispatcher position. Sheriff Derek Scott presented the wage authorization for consideration. Supervisor Dave Skou made the motion to approve the wage of $21.20 per hour for Kaylee Petty, and Supervisor Shane Bellefy seconded; the motion carried with all five supervisors voting Aye.
