Council advances Platform Waste five-year contract after members press company on compaction problems
On second reading the council approved moving a five-year contract with Platform Waste Solutions forward to a third and final reading after Councilman J. P. Sanchez pressed the company on lack of compaction; a company representative acknowledged equipment issues and said upgrades would be made if the contract is approved.

The Del Rio City Council on Nov. 18 approved the second reading of an ordinance to authorize a five-year contract with Platform Waste Solutions, Inc. for residential, commercial, bulky waste, yard waste and recycling collection and disposal services and voted to bring the ordinance back for a third and final reading.
