Del Rio council reverts October water billing changes, schedules town hall and public hearing
After public complaints about an October water-rate increase and a staff finding of missing notice, City Attorney Ana Smith said rates would revert to the previous schedule immediately; the council directed staff to refund or credit affected accounts, scheduled a Dec. 1 town hall and a Dec. 12 public hearing, and will consider waiving late fees for Oct.–Dec.

The Del Rio City Council moved on Nov. 10 to halt the recent water billing changes after public commenters and staff raised legal and procedural concerns, and directed staff to correct customer accounts and hold public meetings before any new rates take effect.
