Parks and Nature staff recommended a set of changes to event-related fees for 2027 intended to bring fees in line with peer agencies and recover more of the department's costs. Ross Hoover, parks and nature division manager, said the proposals grew from a 2022–23 Parks Advisory Board subcommittee review and follow prior 2026 fee adjustments for parking and shelter rentals.
