County adopts new Compensation Maintenance Plan that changes review process
Jun 10, 2025
The Council approved a revised Compensation Maintenance Plan that removes an internal review committee and routes job-description requests through the County Administrator and a compensation consultant; the County Commissioners must pass an ordinance to adopt the plan formally.
The full story
County Administrator Tom Klein presented an updated Compensation Maintenance Plan that replaces the former internal committee structure. Under the new process the County Administrator will maintain county job descriptions; department heads seeking new positions, reclassifications or reorganizations must complete a questionnaire that Klein will forward to the compensation consultant (Waggoner, Irwin, Scheele & Associates) and to the County Council. The consultant will provide a Review Report to the Administrator for distribution to Council; final decisions rest with the County Council.
