Ashley Thompson requested council approval to extend the existing Water's Edge lease (22 years remaining) for an additional 50 years or to allow the Thompsons to sell the park. Thompson said they "want to keep this simple; we want to sell the park." City Attorney Jake Jones explained options including entering a new lease, selling the property following statutory surplus procedures and public auction, or leaving the lease as-is.
