Facilities and Properties Manager David Berman asked the Lake County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 1 to ratify his signature authorizing $9,000 to Steele Architecture for engineering plans tied to a proposed third‑floor removal at the Lake County Courthouse. Berman said the Courthouse Security Committee recommended the change "for better security," that funds exist in the remodel budget line, and that the State Court would match remodel funds.
