Economic development staff reports relocations, awards and county guide plans
Staff reported three preapproved applicants for the county's Driftless relocation program (from California, Colorado and Minnesota), progress on a small-business development grant with local bank partners, and plans to publish the Vernon County guide next spring with a $20,000 production target and $9,500 ad revenue goal.

Larkin, the economic development staffer, told the committee the small-business development grant application was near completion and that several local banks have agreed to provide technical assistance to loan applicants. He said the City of Viroqua and the City of Hillsborough committed $1,500 each in cash match contingent on award, and that the grant would be submitted after final revisions.
