Representatives from the Jessamine Humane Society appeared before the Garrard County Fiscal Court on June 9 to describe local cat overpopulation and request program support. Kim Hurst and Brittany Fain said the society operates in Garrard County and that a $1,500 county contribution last year, matched by others, allowed the group to spay 21 cats and neuter 84.
