Near the meeting's close the council voted to enter closed session under Iowa Code §21.5(1)(c) to discuss litigation strategy with counsel. Patrick, the city attorney, reviewed the subject matter and confirmed his opinion that the council could lawfully enter a closed session under that provision. The motion to go into closed session was made by Councilmember Rich and seconded by Dan; council adopted the motion and moved to closed session.
