On July 9, 2025, staff from the Harvard Kennedy School Government Performance Lab presented technical assistance to the Dane County Department of Pretrial Services during a meeting of the Community Justice Council Pretrial Services Subcommittee. The presentation outlined research and tools intended to help the county "right-size" supervision caseloads — that is, adjust who receives supervisory services and at what level — without undermining court appearance or public-safety outcomes.
