Committee reviews year-end budget issues; allocates $1,100 for Search and Rescue liability coverage
Bayfield County's Executive Committee reviewed 2024 year-end budget amendments tied to several departments, withdrew a motion to forward amendments to the County Board, and approved $1,100 to provide worker’s comp/liability coverage for Search and Rescue volunteers.

County Administrator Mark Abeles-Allison reviewed proposed year-end 2024 budget amendments affecting Veterans, the Copy Fund, Land Conservation, Fleet, Sheriff and Joint Dispatch. Jaime Moore, Joint Dispatch Director, explained that Ashland and Bayfield County budgets and consolidation expenses had been combined for 2025 and that 2024 expenses exceeded the budget by approximately $26,000; costs will be split between Ashland and Bayfield Counties.
