Sound Transit: alignment cannot enter Paine Field; station design will allow shuttle/overcrossing accommodations
Oct 15, 2026
Sound Transit told the committee the elevated guideway cannot enter Paine Field because of FAA airspace (Part 77) constraints; the agency said it will reserve station footprint space to accommodate Boeing- or airport-run shuttles or an overcrossing but would not build or fund those connections.
