Andrew Terry, assistant emergency manager for King William County, told the Local Emergency Planning Committee that the county’s hazardous-materials (hazmat) plan is nearing completion and that remaining work focuses on finalizing chemical inventories and transportation routes. “I would call the hazmat plan probably 80 ish percent done at this point,” Terry said, and added: “My hope is to have a draft by January 1 for everything done, and then send that out to the group for comments and review so that we can have a recommendation at the April meeting, which then can go to board supervisors and town council for their blessing and their approval.”
