The Fayette County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously May 5, 2025 to create the Fayette County Development & Finance Authority under Ohio Revised Code Sections 4582.21–4582.71. The resolution, moved by Donald L. Fleak and seconded by James D. Garland, formalizes a port-authority-style entity to support transportation, economic development, housing, recreation, education, government operations, culture and research in Fayette County.
