Committee approves ordinance to end countywide humane officer program
The Waukesha County Land Use, Parks & Environment Committee approved Ordinance 179-O-077 on Feb. 24, 2025, discontinuing the Countywide Humane Officer Program while retaining the Rabies Control Program and dangerous-animal regulations; the change shifts animal abuse and neglect response to law enforcement, the county said.
