Highway Committee recommends conditional approval for 48th Annual Firecracker 5 Mile Race in Ephrata

The Ephrata Borough Highway Committee reviewed a Feb. 12 request from the Ephrata Rec Center and the Ephrata War Memorial Association to hold the 48th Annual Firecracker 5 Mile Race and accompanying Fun Run in the borough. The committee concluded the event can be recommended for approval but set conditions intended to protect public safety and borough liability: review and approval by EMC Gockley and Chief McKim and borough receipt of a certificate of insurance naming the Borough as additional insured.
