Monroe Trails Committee says Environmental Assessment draft is ready and NEPA schedule set
Committee members report the final draft of the Environmental Assessment (EA) is ready to submit, a city-facing MOU will be available next week, and mapping and cultural surveys are scheduled ahead of a potential June start to construction.

The Monroe Trails Committee met March 18 in Monroe City and reviewed progress on federal environmental review for planned local trails. Committee member Jenna reported the official NEPA start date is now considered to be June 2024 and said the final draft of the Environmental Assessment (EA) is ready to be submitted. Committee member Prescott joined Jenna in outlining mapping and cultural-survey steps that remain before construction can begin.
