Thompsons approves one-year Constable contract with Fort Bend County deputies
The council approved an interlocal Constable Contract with Fort Bend County to provide deputy services from Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027, a cost-saving option that avoids town purchases of vehicles and benefits.

The Town of Thompsons voted to enter a 12-month Constable Contract with Fort Bend County deputies covering Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027. Mayor Freddie Newsome said the arrangement is "a good option for the Town of Thompsons at the current time with no need for the Town to purchase a vehicle, retirement, medical insurance, radios, etc." The contract was approved with a motion from Gina Treadgold, seconded by Gary Mosier.
