FRL Committee flags accounting discrepancy on American Tower lease payments

Forest Administrator Chad Keranen summarized the history of the American Tower lease during the March 4 meeting, saying the lease requires that payments be deposited into the Land 250 Account but that the Sheriff's Department has collected lease payments on multiple occasions. He said a 2017 review by a previous Forest Administrator and Corporation Counsel concluded the funds should go to Land 250 and that some accounting corrections were made, but Keranen's recent review shows additional payments have still been collected by the Sheriff's Department.
