Lynn County Judge Mike Braddock told the Commissioners Court on Jan. 27 that he had sent a declaration to the governor about drought conditions and said the county needed a burn ban "to protect ourselves." The court voted to put a burn ban in place and specified that exceptions are available if residents call the sheriff's office before burning.
