Tracy Cruel, President and Founder of Brie's Gift, told the Dougherty County Commission she started the nonprofit in 2024 after the death of her 23‑year‑old daughter and asked the Board to help raise awareness for leukemia patients and their caregivers. The Board consented to provide media support and requested that Cruel provide notice of upcoming events; Chairman Lorenzo Heard and Commissioners Gaines and Jones and others from the audience made financial donations.
