Trappe council narrows trash placement window, reopens hearing until Nov. 5
The Trappe Town Council amended Ordinance 6-2025 to require refuse receptacles be placed no earlier than 2:00 pm the day before collection and removed by 8:00 pm on collection day, and it reopened the public hearing on the ordinance through the Nov. 5 council meeting.

The Trappe Town Council voted Oct. 1 to amend Ordinance 6-2025, changing the allowable timeframe for placing refuse and waste containers. Commissioner Brian Schmidt moved to set the placement window "no earlier than 2:00 pm on the day prior to collection" and require that "trash containers must be removed from the street no later than 8:00 pm on collection day," a motion seconded by Commissioner Michael Sullivan and approved unanimously.
