Del Rio City Manager recognizes finance team; council debates travel accommodation request
City Manager Shawna Burkhart recognized the Finance Department for work closing the fiscal year and proposed a rotating council committee for investment reports. Council discussed a travel-accommodation change request for Councilman Jesus Lopez for the TML conference and declined a City Attorney suggestion to give the manager discretion; the manager offered to cover the cost if denied.

City Manager Shawna D. Burkhart used the Oct. 1 meeting to recognize the Finance Department for extensive work closing the fiscal year and leading the budget process. Assistant Finance Director Roxy Soto presented the Quarterly Investment Report ending June 30, 2024; Burkhart proposed a rotating three-member council committee to review investment reports in advance so members could ask more detailed questions.
