The Town Council voted unanimously July 13 to name Council Member Wilkins as Mayor Pro Tem following the resignation of Council Member Watts, who left the council after moving out of town. Mayor Christopher J. Walker announced the vacancy earlier in the meeting; Wilkins volunteered for the Pro Tem role and the council approved the selection without recorded opposition.
