Palmyra board orders stepped price cuts for old ambulance, lists cot separately

Aug 3, 2026

The board directed lowering the old ambulance listing to $16,000 and authorized weekly $2,000 reductions until a bid appears or the price reaches $10,000; the cot will be listed separately with a $2,000 reserve at auction. The new ambulance is expected in mid-September.

The full story

The Village of Palmyra approved a plan Aug. 3 to accelerate sale of its old ambulance after it received no offers on Wisconsin Surplus. Chief Gartzke told the board the unit has been listed for more than a month with no interest and the department needs the space because a new ambulance is expected in mid-September. The board authorized lowering the listing price to $16,000 immediately and instructed that, if unsold after one week, the price should be reduced by $2,000 each week until a bid is received or the price reaches $10,000.
