Commissioner Beatrick informed the court the county has technical reports from Ford, Powell & Carson identifying deficiencies at the historic courthouse—insufficient roof slope, grading problems and a failing French drain system that allows water to pool under the structure. She recommended pursuing a Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program emergency grant (50% match) and presented a supporting resolution; the application deadline is May 8.
