Plan Commission approves awning replacement for Hoard building at 28 Milwaukee Ave W
The commission approved a special area design review to replace an awning at 28 Milwaukee Avenue West to accommodate Hoard's expansion; Historic Preservation Committee reviewed and had no objections, and staff said the awning meets minimum design requirements.

City staff presented a proposal to replace the existing downtown awning at 28 Milwaukee Avenue West after the Daily Jefferson County Union vacated the space. Draeger said the new awning will allow Hoard's to expand operations into the space, including a small cooler to sell cheeses similar to what they sell at Jones Dairy. He noted the Historic Preservation Committee reviewed the design and "had no concerns."
