San Rafael to ask council to consider progressive design‑build contract Nov. 2 for Albert Park project

City staff told trustees and commissioners that the project will use a progressive design‑build delivery method, which brings the architect and contractor on as a team early to collaborate on design and cost. Catherine Kufa said the city received eight proposals, interviewed three teams and is recommending a team led by Excel Construction with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill for council consideration on Nov. 2.
