After-school program expands to four sites; district, county share support
After-school coordinator Kelsey Houchins reported four sites operating with staff and students, a $12/day fee (with a sibling discount) and active efforts to secure social-service subsidies and county partnership to sustain and expand care.

Kelsey Houchins, the after-school care coordinator, told the board that the district currently operates four after-school sites with staff and students. "Blue Ridge is up to 4 students. Patrick Springs site... Hart Reynolds has 8, and Stewart has 6," she said, and added the program offers an afternoon snack, homework help, arts and crafts and gym time when available.
