The full story
City Manager Squyres explained that Jacinto City was invited to manage three DRRP grants reassigned from other jurisdictions and asked the council to authorize solicitation of requests for proposals for the projects. Each grant is worth $2 million. The projects include: a Lane Street sewer-line upgrade to address storm-related overflows; a fast-track wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) digester project moved into a separate DRRP grant after bids exceeded the original estimate for a larger $5.3 million project; and a fixed communications equipment project to upgrade generators (including replacing a 22–23-year-old generator at the fire station) and to install a P25-compliant radio system for improved interoperability.
