Board approves Big Valley Groundwater Basin FY26–27 work plan and budget

Gaylen Ord of Planning and Building Services presented the Big Valley Groundwater Basin annual work plan, schedule and budget prepared under the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA). Ord said the basin is designated medium priority by the Department of Water Resources and summarized timeline requirements: annual reports are due April 1 and a periodic evaluation is due in 2027. He presented the proposed work this year and a program total of $62,155 with Lassen County’s share shown as approximately $39,893 under the draft split recommended by the advisory committee.
