The Dougherty County Commission presented a proclamation honoring Albany Technical College’s 65 years of workforce training and partnerships; EMS Director James Gibney was named the college’s 2026 Alumni of the Year.

The Dougherty County Board of Commissioners recognized Albany Technical College on its 65th anniversary and presented a proclamation to ATC President Dr. Emmett Griswold at the work session. The proclamation notes, “Albany Technical College was established in 1961 and has faithfully served Albany, Dougherty County, and the Southwest Georgia region for 65 years by preparing individuals for the workforce through high-quality technical and adult education training.”
