Palmyra boards to form committee to explore combining fire services
Trustees agreed to form a joint committee — one representative from the town, one from the village, the fire chief and the public safety director — to meet in March before the election to investigate consolidation or other service arrangements.

During discussion of the Fire/EMS contract, trustees and town board members agreed that exploring options with neighboring districts was prudent but that a formal, paid feasibility study need not be part of the contract. Instead, the boards agreed to form a joint committee composed of one town designee, one village designee, the Fire Chief and the Public Safety Director to meet in March prior to the election and report back on options.
